Kitchen of the Week: Everything Is Illuminated in a Light-Flooded Kitchen in Copenhagen
Scandinavians are clever at maximizing light, due to the minimal sunshine (in the winter, residents are lucky to get five hours of daylight). So we took note when we spotted this light-infused galley kitchen located in an Østerbro, Copenhagen, apartment, owned by a pair of architects. For the components, they turned to the Reflect collection by French architect Jean Nouvel for Reform.
“The light in our apartment is quite magnificent, so we set out to create a kitchen that would interact with the daylight, and reflect the colors from the outside: the sky and the leafy trees,” the owners say. “We also wanted to reflect the colors from the inside: the warm wooden floor and the colorful tiles.”
