“Bathroom Ban” Bill Targets Sarah McBride, First Transgender Lawmaker in US | Firstpost America

Republican Representative from South Carolina Nancy Mace has introduced a bill that seeks to ban transgender people from using single-sex bathrooms at Capitol Hill. The resolution specifically targets Sarah McBride, a Democrat who will be sworn in as the first openly transgender member of Congress in January next year. Mace says she is a victim of sexual assault and does not want a “biological man” walking to women’s restrooms. Meanwhile, McBride says the bill is a blatant attempt from far right-wing extremists to distract from real issues that Americans are facing.
