Object of Desire: Eco-Conscious Kitchen Cloths from Japan

Spotted at Tortoise in LA, one of favorite housewares stores anywhere: Sasasa Sarashi kitchen cloths, an eco friendly alternative to paper towels. Winner of an international iF Design Award in 2022, Sasasa cloths are made using the Japanese wasarashi method of cotton processing, which takes four days and results in an exceptionally absorbent, strong, fast-drying gauze.

Choose from perforated and non-perforated versions, both of which can be cut to accommodate your needs; you can expect to get up to 30 uses per cloth.
