Easy Guest Bedroom Makeover For Spring 2023

Here’s the before of my guest room (above).

The Mini Makeover

My plan for this mini makeover was to create a more serene and relaxed guest bedroom. I thought it was time to make this room look a little more modern. I decide to change out the Lauren Ashley quilt. with a simple comforter. The main focus of the space should be the floral gallery wall. A slight change can make a big difference.

For the bedding, I worked with Boll and Branch. Their luxury bedding collection comes in so many muted/cool tones. I wanted a cleaner and more relaxed look. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go with pewter tones or blue hues. So I decided to mix and match. I was gifted their waffle blanket in the shade “shore”. It’s a gray/blue tone. In case you didn’t know, I adore a plush waffle blanket. It’s such a cozy texture. I know my guests will love it (almost as much as I do)!  For the sheets and shams,  I went with a pewter color for a bit of contrast. They’re 100% organic threads giving them a buttery soft quality. Literally feels like heaven. I might have to buy a set for my primary bedroom now.

Waffle Blankets & Shams

Waffle blankets or shams are the perfect way to tie a bed together. Adding a different texture to contrast the bed set while also providing that extra level of comfort to any guest. What makes a waffle blanket different from most is that it is much plusher while still lightweight and breathable.

What to Provide in A Guest Bedroom?

Once you’ve created a comfortable atmosphere in your guest bedroom. What else should you provide for guests? The main priorities should be a comfy bed, cozy throw pillows, clean towels, and a few decorative touches. I was scrolling through Pinterest trying to find inspiration for the guest room. I came across guest room welcome kits. I think this is such a great idea to make sure your guests are comfortable and have everything they need. No one wants to be known as an unfriendly host. Right? So here’s what I want to put in my welcome kit. It includes some toiletries essentials and more.

I started playing around with the wall art over the bed. Not sure if I should remove all the art and leave the wall blank. Or maybe replace it with something new? What do you think I should do?
