Remodelista Reconnaissance: Interior Shutters in a Workstead-Designed Retreat

Ever since Julie first posted on this Low-Key but Subtly Luxe Beach House on Shelter Island, Courtesy of Workstead, we’ve been convinced of the appeal of interior shutters. Particularly the un-slatted sort: a clean-lined, modern-but-still-classic update on old-fashioned styles.

Where to source something similar? That’s this week’s query.

The New England Shutter Company—based not, in fact, in New England, but in London—has customizable offerings, like the ones shown here.

Or, if you’re feeling daring, make your own: The blog The Art of Doing Stuff has instructions using birch plywood.
