Inside A Lavender Library in New York

A view of the fireplace.

The fabulous design details were already in place. Anne transformed a modern fireplace and shipped in this marble carved mantle to soften the space. One thing I suggested to Anne and John was that she main the ceiling lavender too. At first, it was stark white. I always think the color should surround a space. I can’t wait to see what the final result of the lavender library looks like once Anne adds a few more art pieces.

The before.

Here’s a look at the before. The apartment is located in Nomad (near Flat Iron District. The original design was very modern. Anne and John wanted to add their own style to their new apartment.

The large sectional and ottoman.

Anne has a great eye for design. The sectional is by Jonathan Adler with furry throws. The end table is from Soho Home. In the back behind the sectional are a few vintage pieces including Biedermeier-style dining chairs from her grandmother. And Animal print-covered armchairs. It all works so well together.

Another view of the bookshelves.

Large bookshelves with fabulous vintage coffee table books sourced from eBay. Coffee table books are great for adding more color to a room.

One of my favorite details Anne added is the gold floral cabinet door pulls.

Initially, I was only supposed to be there for a few weeks. Somehow I ended up on the east coast for almost a month…not that I’m complaining. I had a fabulous time catching up with friends and hanging out with family. I can’t wait to share more photos from my trip to Martha’s Vinyard, Nantucket, and the Hamptons.
