Object of Desire: Sweet and Swirly Handblown Glassware by Henry Holland
There isn’t a drink we can think of that won’t look good in this new range of glassware by the fashion designer turned ceramicist, Henry Holland. (Plus, they remind us of Campino’s retro strawberry and yogurt fruit candies which can only be a good thing.)
Hand molded by a glassmaker in Suffolk, each glass has a unique, slightly wobbly form that fits snuggly into the palm of hand. “When we began thinking about how we would approach glassware, it was important to us to work with UK-based artisans that reflect the way we work in the studio,” Henry explains. The eminently collectible range is inspired by nerikomi—a Japanese technique used for creating pottery in multiple colors of clay.
“I wanted to approach these designs in a way that reflected our core ceramic collections—vibrant, playful, and colorful,” he continues. “These are designed to layer in with our ceramic collection but also as standalone pieces for the table that are beautiful pieces of craft in their own right.”
The collection launches on 4th August at Henry Holland Studio.
