In case you needed another prompt to book a trip to Portugal, allow us to introduce you to Rosamar, a new seafood restaurant in Lisbon. Done over by Studio Pim, an interior design firm led by Belgian designer Perrine Velge, with twin bases in Lisbon and London, the interiors channel retro seaside summer.

Their request? A sense of the seaside and the beach, but nothing too overt.

The blue-trimmed windows on the front are called “guillotine windows,” though the entrance still manages to feel open and inviting.

The distinctive feature is the glass ceiling, which the team kept in place, adding “a raft-like timber structure,” according to Perrine, with white fabric woven through it. The result is a subtle nod to a ship’s sails (and the room is a bit less bright).

Here, an archway is clad in tiles, a nod to Portuguese azulejos. The team had all of the tables, chairs, and banquettes made custom.
